8 Article Marketing Tips For Reader Engagement

Image: Maggie Smith / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

Although quality content plays a major role in article marketing, without proper structure, even the best content can fail to achieve reader engagement. I will shortly mention important article marketing tips to ensure viewer attention and engagement.

With properly structured high quality articles, you can achieve active readership and returning visitors to your blog or website. You want to satisfy, benefit, and bring your viewers back for more!

Create unique, high quality content that is structured in the best of formats. Give your viewers a reason to bookmark your page. Every article on your website should make your viewers feel that they definitely need to visit your blog again! Part of what makes your content amazing, having viewers back for more, is article structure!
Quality content that benefits others is not enough. Proper structure is one of many important article marketing tips for engagement!

Stay on topic! Let your reader’s know what you will be talking about and make sure you talk about just that. You title should reflect your topic so reader’s keep interested and engaged. The trick is to have a title relevant to the article, which is relevant to the service or product you’re promoting. The better these three relate, the higher you achieve a targeted audience and ongoing visitors.

Let’s share the secrets then to achieving greater reader engagement!

We have already talked about Article Title Secrets to attract viewer attention for maximum traffic generating potential!

If you have not done so already, read “7 Ways To Create Article Titles? Secrets For Stunning Traffic."

Now let’s begin!

Here are the secrets!

#1 Topic

The first paragraph of your post should clearly explain what your article is about. In addition, your article should stay on task at all times. Do not go off topic. Remember the 5 W’s when writing your article. Who, what, where, when, and why. The rest of the article be a reflection of these questions. Make your most important points in the introduction.

#2 Points/Lists

Another tip to engage readership is to use points or lists. People love lists as it is always easier to follow something that is in list fashion. A list is more amusing for the eyes than a lump paragraphs. List are a great way to make sure you are “to the point!”
That’s what people love don’t they? They come to your articles for one reason, to learn something special! Keep their attention by giving them the facts in the shortest amount of writing as possible! A list is simple to follow and does just that!

#3 Simplicity – In Every Aspect

Keep your content writing in simple form. If you are using big words define them for your readers. Use the least amount of words possible to get out an idea or sentence.

#4 Short Paragraphs

Keep your paragraphs short in the range of 3-5 sentences long. Long solid blocks of text are not attractive.

#5 Give Away Some Secrets

If you have a product or service you may think of giving away some secrets. When people understand your methods, they are likely to gain your trust. When people are comfortable with you, they will trust you enough to buy your products. The more people who trust you, the higher the demand for your goods or services.

#6 Examples/Experiences

Share examples and experiences. The more you share, the more people can relate to you. Be open about your personal experiences. Give a hypothetical example to help readers understand what you are talking about.

#7 Resources

Share resource links for information around the web. Outgoing links from your website can increase your site’s page rank in the search engines; so don’t worry about losing viewers.

#8 Checklist

Thousands of thoughts run in your brain! Create a marketing schedule for daily tasks and goals of what you need to accomplish! Make a checklist of this list and review it before submitting your next articles!

How To Rank 1st Page On Google In 48 Hours

Image: renjith krishnan / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

To achieve 1st page ranking on Google may seem impossible in such a short time, but there are shortcuts you can take to reach this goal in less than 5 days. So sit back, and relax, and read each part carefully!

Before I teach you this technique, you should know that it is vital to follow each of the proceeding steps. Also note that this method works depending on a number of factors which I will be explaining shortly.

Step #1: Low Competitive Keywords

The first and foremost part of this technique to achieve 1st page ranking on Google revolves around using low competitive keywords. Competition among marketers for these keywords are low. With little competition amongst these keywords, you will have an easy time ranking first page on Google. I would also suggest that low competition keywords mean decreased ppc ad costs due to lower competition. Pretty self-explanatory so far huh?

At this point you may be wondering why you would want to rank high for a low competitive keyword since low competitive keywords don't generate as much traffic as high competitive keywords. Although they do not generate as much traffic, the fact you can rank first page on Google for these keywords, will assuredly give you a great deal of traffic.

Ask yourself one question; would you rather use high competitive keywords to rank extremely low or low competitive keywords to rank extremely high? Not to mention fast! Think of how much time it takes to rank high for only one high competitive keyword.

In my opinion and experience, the speed at which you can reach first page on Google, combined with the quantity of how many times you can do this, outweighs the benefits of targeting high competitive keywords. The fact you can rank first page on Google for these keywords takes care of the low search volume levels “problem.” Think quantity, speed, and rank!

To quickly find a low competitive keyword, I use the Google Adwords Keyword Tool; it is fast and free. To use the keyword tool, type in a related keyword to one you are searching for concerning your article. A bunch of similar keywords will be displayed.

After entering your keyword, two very important columns are displayed.

Important Column #1 – Keyword Column

The first column is a list of relevant keywords displayed after you enter your search term.

Important Column # 2 – Competition Levels

The next column after keywords are the competition levels.

Which keywords to choose?

Search for keywords with low competition levels. These keywords can easily rank you first page on Google.

The second factor that plays a role in choosing your keyword is the number of search results. Try to choose a keyword in the search results range of 200,000 or less. To do this, enter your keyword in the Google search engine. The amount of search results for that keyword will display under the search box. Choosing a keyword within this range will dramatically increase your chances of ranking first page.

Keyword Optimization

Step #2: Keyword Optimization

After choosing a search term, the next step would be to optimize your article with your keyword.

Let's say your article is about making money online and your keyword is "Make Money At Online Ideas." You would place your keyword in the following places:

1) Title – Use Your Keyword As Your Title.
2) First Sentence Of Post.
3) 1-2 Times In Each Paragraph
4) At The End Of Your Post

What do you notice about articles that rank high on Google? I notice that each page resulting are well established sites. The articles are usually high in quality and well written; not to mention keyword optimized. Take notice of these results, as they represent the quality of articles that rank top on Google.

In order to achieve the highest page rank on Google for a given keyword, I have created an article requirement checklist that must be reviewed before submission. I would like to share it, as it holds many of the qualities of a high ranking Google article.

The following is that list:

1) Quality Content/Informative/“To The Point”

2) Good Grammar/Spelling/Flow

3) Split Paragraph - Split Paragraphs Are More Attractive Than Huge Lumps

4) Keyword Optimized - Keywords In Proper Places

5) Keyword Density

6) Time Of Submission - Every Niche Has A Time Period Of Maximal Traffic Generating Potential. Find Out When Your Targeted Audience Is Most Active Online.

The checklist above helps me decide whether or not my article is ready for submission. I think reviewing this list will help take the necessary time to adequately fulfill all areas of a successful SEO article marketing plan. A plan cannot be rushed and this is a great reminder to avoid overlooking a small but important factor which plays a vital role in SEO. Many times I believe marketers overlook small “tweaks” or optimizations.

Step # 3: Article Submission

The next important task is to find a submission site for your article. Find a site with a high Google pagerank.

Buzzle is one of my favorite article submission sites. It does well on the Google search engines and has got me first page on Google for multiple keywords with this technique.

You are now ready to add your article to an article submission site in preparation to post.

Before submitting your article, add your low competitive keyword as an article tag. This will improve search engine ranking for that specific low competitive keyword.

You are now ready to submit. Submit your article to a high ranking article submission website such as Ezinearticles, Goarticles, Buzzle, etc.

Within 48 hours, you should see your keyword on the front page of Google.

If you don't find your keyword on the front page of Google try looking on the next few pages. If you don't reach first page, do not despair.

I have ranked first page on Google for many keywords with this method. Try this technique at least 10 times and see for yourself the reality of how many keywords you actually can rank on first page of Google. With consistent effort, you can be on your way to thousands and thousands in traffic.

Life is not perfect; this method is not necessarily going to work every time. A number of factors play a role in SEO. I do believe that majority of the time, this method should work; and that you can get loads of traffic in due time. Be consistent, and it will pay off!

*Note: When using this method, it is not necessary that you find a keyword with search result levels of 200,000 or less. Try experimenting with higher numbers. They may work. Experiment around and let me know what works best for you!
